As we backpacked up the East Fork trail out of Box Canyon, we stopped at the water’s edge. We set our packs on the smooth boulders and filled our bottles with the water cold from the snowmelt. Then over from where we sat, we saw bushes full with these bright red, raspberry-like beauties. They were thimbleberries, wild berries named because they look like a sewing thimble. I will forever cherish the sweet, fresh taste of wild thimbleberries that I first tasted along the trail in the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness of Montana.
The thimbleberry greeting cards feature a watercolor wild thimbleberry card design with or without prose about thimbleberries printed on a high-quality linen card.
